Grief reigns supreme across Iran as mourners commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the beloved daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Ceremonies are underway nationwide to mark the tragic occasion, with millions of Iranians from all walks of life attending services to pay tribute to Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (PBUH).

She was the wife of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (PBUH) and is regarded as a role model by Muslim women for her moral and religious virtues.

She was the mother of the second Shia Imam, Imam Hassan (PBUH), and the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (PBUH).
