Hundreds of families gathered in Istanbul to honor the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatimeh, the only daughter of Islam’s Prophet Mohammad ( PBUH). Hazrat Fatimeh’s piety, obedience and virtues of her love for God was oft-repeated during the ceremony which included inspirational speeches and musical performances in respect of the Prophet Mohammad's home life. Press TV's Marzieh Hashemi was a guest of honor at the event. Born Melanie Franklin in a Protestant Afro-American family, Marzieh Hashimi converted to Islam. For Muslims, Hazrat Fatimeh is an inspiring example. Among other things, she is honored for supporting her father, Prophet Mohammad in his difficulties. The ceremony in Istanbul is both a commemoration and celebration of Hazrat Fatimeh’s exemplary life, and the inspiration it continues to provide for women in the Muslim world. Video here.
